Seriously, as a slave, what was he doing leading the charge against the British?

He was the first one shot, bruh, not the first one in battle. And he wasn't really leading the charge- if he was part of it, he was just at the head of a mob who went to attack the British soldiers for harrassing some locals. Other accounts say he was simply hanging around and happened to be the first one shot despite not really being involved (wouldn't surprise me.)

He wasn't a slave at the time of the incident, btw. It's hard to know for sure what his intentions were.

I think when it comes down to it the history of these things doesn't fit the whole uncle tom vs field slave model. For example over here many Indians died fighting the Nazis on behalf of the British while Indians were still fighting for freedom from the British :yeshrug: these social groups of oppressor vs oppressed criss cross very deeply

I was half joking with this thread. But :leon: I always thought he was a slave.

He was like th canary bird miners put in tunnels to avoid dying. Those cacs were probably like "****** crispus go to the front of the line and see what the commotion is"

Im not too sure on this, but I dont think they had slaves in Boston at that time.

Fact check please?

They did, and he was a slave at one point in his life, but by the time of the Massacre, he was living as a free man. Boston tended to accept multiracial people more easily than some of the other colonies at the time.
