I think the advice needs to be altered in modern day

Reality is military is probably one of the better ways to have any type of advancement in expensive ass competitive ass country, fighting for jobs not only versus domestic but international people, with lackluster education and toxic environment working against you

Military is probably better than bagging groceries or street life

But an emphasis needs to be put on black kids having a spook who sat by the door mentality when it comes to military and understand they still black so they will attempt to put you at the bottom no matter what, we got to fight against that the best way we can and that’s by being the most skilled

And to speak a little more on the spook who sat by the door mentality, military typically leads to important strategic positions in the country, food for thought
