My old man swears up and down Mitch Richmond was the second best shooting guard in the league in the mid 90s behind MJ

I’m 19 so obviously I ain’t see dude played and I watched his highlights, he ain’t look like nothing special.

So, old heads, how good was Mitch :patrice:

I was puzzled when he made it into the HOF, but he wasnt the 2nd best SG in the league behind Jordan, Clyde Drexler was. That being said, Mitch was a sniper and had an awesome ass career. I'm glad he eventually got his ring with the Lakers
:mjlol: Clyde Drexler was trash :mjlol:

So what would be top 5 shooting guards in the early to mid 90s in your opinion?

Jordan

Richmond was a great scorer but he was on some bad teams. The '91 Warriors was the only real competitive team that he was a part of. And it's not lost on me that the Kings got better right after he got traded.

2nd best is strong... but he was underrated during his prime... he was a 2 that was strong enough to have a post game in crunch bucket situations... he played D too.... even the so called GOAT said he was extremely tough to guard....

5. Joe Dumars

Mullin would have been 3, but basketball reference has him listed as a SF instead for most of his career

Honorable Mention: Latrell Sprewell (people forget just how good he was when he started his career, he was the future of the Warriors before the choking incident)
