It did about as good as your average rapper run label. Meek Mill and Wale are (Black) household names and put out consistently good projects before they fell off. Every label got their weedcarriers but at least Gunplay put Kdot in a blender on 2 songs

Ross gave them guys bad deals but would you say that means they were a bad label overall? Based on that wouldn’t you have to say Bad Boy was a bad label?

They were a successful label/crew that released multiple good albums and had memorable moments. Ross, Meek, and Wale each had a couple successful albums at least. Plus the compilation albums were noteworthy initially.

They were solid and had a nice little run, but could’ve done more, plus I’ve never looked at them as a true crew in the likes of RR, Dipset, Wu, G-Unit, NL, the old Cash Money, etc. To me they always just seemed like a loose collection of random guys that happened to be in the studio at the same time together.

It wasn't a long run but absolutely. By the end of 2011 both Meek Mill and Wale were ready made superstars, especially impressive in Wale's case because 12 months prior he was considered a bust.

They had legitimate buzz for a friggin press conference to announce a new signing. Just typing that sentence feels crazy but I saw it with my own eyes!

What made their deals bad?
