Good label musically wise, bad label business wise :francis: . It seems like a gift and a curse with labels that are crew focus, because you have the talent but the direction is always a miss (ala TDE).

Easily yes. Would wale been as big without them? Well he was signed prior and flopped. Would Meek have been as big without them? Well he too was signed elsewhere and didn't get looks until MMG. Also they did this while the industry was going through a transition and during early social media

I'm laughing at the G-Unit soldiers on this site rushing to say 'No' or make up bullshyt about their business.

MMG was a very successful label, and Ross actually created a couple stars with Meek and Wale, both of which were lost prior to Ross signing them. Meek was signed to TI before Ross and that went nowhere cause TI went to prison, and Wale was a failed new artist over at Interscope. 50 would've never let his artists shine and potentionally become bigger than him like Ross did with Meek and Wale.

French Montana, Gunplay, Stalley, Rockie Fresh, and Omarion all benefitted from MMG's success too. I would argue Ross and Diddy were critical in French Montana's transition from underground to mainstream.

Ross almost signed Nipsey and Dom Kennedy too, and could've took their careers to the next level very early on, but they both wanted to remain independent.

I feel like Meek Mill was the right fit for MMG. Now does that make MMG a great label? I dont know. Personally Ross is ass to me but thats just me.

If it wasnt for MMG then i dont believe that we'd have this Meek Mill today. T.I. would of instead had him on Grand Hustle and it'd be a different story entirely.

It did about as good as your average rapper run label. Meek Mill and Wale are (Black) household names and put out consistently good projects before they fell off. Every label got their weedcarriers but at least Gunplay put Kdot in a blender on 2 songs

Meek and Wale still make great music and havent fell off. Did you listen to Wale last album? Stop dikk eatting.
