X, Jigga, and Ja I mean not the label itself. It would have been a dope group and I know they did a few songs together but nothing ever came from it. Anybody know the story there?

Jay and X were initially gonna do it out of their love for Irv Gotti, but as time went on, Things fell apart. X began to feel as though Ja was biting his whole style, so he stopped messing with dude completely. Jay just felt Ja wasn't on the level of the other two at the time, and decided to focus on his own team instead.

This should answer the question

“We tried to deliver that album. It was a situation where egos all just played a part in its demise,” Ja Rule told MTV News on Thursday night (October 16) after he performed at the Def Jam 30th anniversary concert at Brooklyn, New York’s Barclays Center.

“We couldn’t get X and Jay in the same room, from long ago, their storied battle on the pool table, guns out [and] all of that,” Rule said, recalling the rap battle Jay and X had before the both became famous. “That carried over into our careers and we were all trying to do our thing separately and it carried over. It was hard to get all of us into a room to do what we needed to do.” [MTV]

It seemed like X and Jigga were constantly taking subliminal shots at each other too. Too many egos I guess.

Those were 3 NY nikkas who were at the Top of the food chain for their labels...

2 of them would have had to fall back to whoever the "alpha"was going to be..

It wasnt an organic situation like the lox..

DMX did 15 Million records sold in 3 YEARSwith 3 Albums ,Ja Rule 7 Million with 3 Albums in 3 Years. And Jigga is doing crazy numbers 10 Million Albums sold in 3 years with 3 albums
Could've been Possibly the greatest super group in Hip Hop ever.
But not sure it was necessary. Those guys as solo acts were wildly successful.

I heard that there's like 4-5 tracks that they never released, obviously Just Blaze wasn't in the studio back then or we would all know about how much he fukks with them and plays them every week :mjlol:

Egos got involved, and imo, Jay is way too envious to function within a group.
Watch the throne? Best of both worlds? Dude let his artist spit the intro to his album and shyt.

How do you know that Jay-z is envious by the way, and not say Ja Rule or DMX?
Not liking Cam'ron's disrespectful ways != Envy.

Ja been rapping like that since the cash money click days homie. Ja & dmx are totally different all around but ja definitely had to change his style to more cookie cutter because dmx & him voices was similar. Even though ja was on that raw shyt he was more g funk club music. Ja never stole from dmx :camby:fukk outta here.
