Ja been rapping like that since the cash money click days homie. Ja & dmx are totally different all around but ja definitely had to change his style to more cookie cutter because dmx & him voices was similar. Even though ja was on that raw shyt he was more g funk club music. Ja never stole from dmxfukk outta here.
Tell that to DMX. He's said it in interviews, and has a couple songs dissing Ja Rule about it.
Just like the Dre/Cube Helter Skelter album... 
One of those things that got talked about, but just didn't quite come to fruition. It probably coulda happened any year before '99, but at no point afterwards.
Even the Firm album IMO went astray. When it was supposed to be just those four collabing, coulda been the illest shyt ever. It ended up being more like a compilation, with everybody's homeboy on there nshyt...

Supergroups are always corny. They never work, and they're never organic. I'm all for supergroup songs, but whole albums are usually terrible or forced.

it's like others have said: it was gonna happen, but x started having issues with ja cause he thought he was biting his style/image/everything, and egos got in the way, specifically ja started feeling himself a lot...ex: he thought he was the reason that the jay song 'can I get a' blew up cause he was on the hook....anyway, that's why it's funny reading that interview with him making it seem like it was jay and x fault it didn't happen lol...
side note: i'm surprised people didn't know x had issues with ja about biting....he openly said it at the time and that's why he stopped fukking with irv/them...hell, it's why em/50 got x to join them on a diss to murda inc when shady and the inc were going at it....seriously, they were going at each other bad...had ja going on the radio calling him crackman x and everything...
