Was Pau Gasol even a top 15 player in 2009 and 2010?

Pau was better than rookie Derrick Rose for sure
You could swap out rookie Rose for Prime B-Roy and Steve Nash.

In 2009/2010 you woulda had a hard time convincing me Pau was better than Joe Johnson or Chauncey Billups as well.

He definitely wasn't top 15 in that time span

I'll give you KG after his injury, but Duncan was still better. I don't think anybody on the planet was taking Pau over Duncan in 2010, not even Lakers fans. Spurs fans woulda burned down buildings if the Lakers pulled off a Duncan/Pau trade

This board consistently overrates Pau and underrates Bosh to push their narratives. Pau never averaged 20 & 10 once in his career (not even as 1st option in Memphis) but somehow he was top 5 lol.
They shyt on Brandon Ingram when he was with the Lakers not realizing he was putting up the same numbers as Pau with less minutes and usage rate. But Pau was “one of the top” players in the league.

Pau was MAYBE top 15 if you account for Derrick Rose being rookie in one of those years. But Paul Gasol sure as hell wasn't top 10 though.

Lebron stans act like Pau Gasol was as good as prime Shaq when he wasn't. He was all-star level power forward, that's it.

I know Pau Gasol was supposed to win Finals MVP in 2010

Kobe led the lakers in scoring in the series, scored 21 straight pts in a finals game, averaged 2 stls a game, had a game with 3 blks (as a G), defended Rondo & Ray, shot 88% from the line, grabbed 15 boards in G7...and y'all want me to believe Pau was supposed to win FMVP

The story heading into G7 was that Kobe would win FMVP whether the lakers won or lost and it would be the first time it hapened since Jerry West

Pau was a good co-star...but before he got to the lakers, he was not considered a top 15 player...he was considered top 20-30...ppl only started to cry about the trade after they realized his fit with Kob would be a great one

Game 6 elimination game: 6-14 FG, 17 pts

Game 7: 6-16 FG, 7-13 FT, 5-9 FT in the 4th qtr

Plays like ass in game 6 and follow that up by missing half your FT's in the biggest game ever but he was FMVP :laff: :laff: :laff: :laff:
