Was Pau Gasol even a top 15 player in 2009 and 2010?

Bro I’m a Grizzlies fan, and at a certain point I turned on Z Bo and realized we overrated him:yeshrug:. Dudes finishing skills after the injury would piss me the fukk off, his passing was meh, his defense was meh and his short ass couldn’t deal with length. I was in the minority of wanting to ship him, and keep Rudy (which would have bolstered our offense, in the years we needed it :yeshrug:)
Y'all should have traded Zach and made Rudy the small ball PF :hubie:

Bro this nikka stupid asl, he really said no one called Marc soft or passive :lolbron:

Man we used to be on Marc’s head during the playoffs for being passive :russ:

Conley would always show out, and this nikka Marc would be indecisive asf:francis:
Mans said Marc Gasol was the Steven Adams of that era :laff:

Marc Gasol still in the damn league and ain't no fukking Steven Adams :dead:

Exactly what I wanted, or at least pair Marc with a small ball PF with more height that could grab boards like Ersan maybe. Zach’s shooting number in the playoffs :gag:. People have this misconceived notion of Rudy, that he’s a black hole and we got better without him. The same shyt people used to say about Z-Bo before he came here, Rudy was just never given a chance really with this fat fukk clogging the paint. When Zach Randolph was injured for the 11-12 season, we started slow but with Rudy Gay as our #1 option we ended as 4 seed and with a .621 winning percentage.

Guess you don't know what soft means.

Indecisiveness doesn't make you soft. Its about toughness and do other players see you as someone weak who'll back down if challenged.

Didn't nobody challenge or punk Marc Gasol like they did Pau. Nobody.

I’m not from Tennessee, I just like the Grizzlies lol. Ask @ISO about my fandom, I’m verified

If people in Tennessee weren't fans of that team then I doubt anyone elsewhere was.

Stop acting like they were the Cavs with LeBron. Unless you have a transcendant star don't nobody like no random small market teams. That's like you telling me the Orlando Magic and Nikola Vucevic got fans outside the city of Orlando.

Just stop it. You saying you're a Grizzlies fan outside the state of Tennessee is less believable than Paul George saying he was a Clippers fan growing up.

Son not everyone is some dikk riding type Lebron/Kobe/Lakers/Bulls fan lmao:russ: .. I was young, saw them in the playoffs vs the Spurs and Rudy Gay was one of my favorite players in the league and I became a fan.

Randolph definitely had his fair share of flaws and was never in the Tier 1 when it came to power forwards. Pau arguably was in 09-10 when he was playing with better talent. But Z-Bo's career is underrated as a whole

I guess I'm mostly looking at it from a leadership point of view. Zach had that dog in him to lead the squad through the tough times. Bosh got better at this too on the Heat whenever LeBron and Wade were out. I remember him being clutch as hell when he had to step up and be #1. Pau is the weak link here to me

The Rudy point is interesting to me. I actually felt we should've kept him in 2013 because he would've come in handy during the Spurs series... but if we don't let him go than I don't think Mike or Marc would've ever broken out. I don't see us being as successful without Zach either because we needed his alpha mentality almost as much as his production. Marc and Mike along with Rudy are naturally secondary contributors and play more comfortable with someone else leading them

This I can agree with you on completely. I used to hate Marc's guts all the time in the playoffs, specifically in 2012, 15 and 17. For the first half of 2015 Marc was the best center in the league, completely dominating everybody. Then the second half of the season he just trailed off for some reason and got increasingly moody. If Marc continued to play the way he did in the first half of 2015 we would've beaten the Warriors. They had no answer for him

Then in 2017 Conley balls out by matching Kawhi almost shot for shot. After Game 1 where was Marc? He scored 0 points in the 4th quarter of Game 6. The only redeeming quality he had there was hitting that Game Winner in Game 4. Again he had a great first half of the season then trailed off as Conley had to pick up the slack

Ugh you're giving me flashbacks breh, dude would frustrate me to no end. Marc CLEARLY had the talent to be much better than he was... but he never had the mentality to go along with it

Jokic is what Gasol should have been, I was impressed by what I saw from Jokic in the playoffs. Even though we ran at a slow pace, we barely had scoring options outside of 2 other nikkas. Marc should have been able to put Jokic numbers along with being the defensive stud he was. People would excuse Marc’s poor rebounding too because Zach was taking “boards” away from him:mjlol: . Although Zach would stat pad his boards like a mf when missing an easy layup 4 fukking times in row just for the board:russ:
