LMAO, I saw a reference to DJ Lt. Dan. Bring backs memories. "LOOOOOTENNNNANT DANNNN!!!" Dude did drop some dope ass tapes though. Underrated mixtape DJ for sure.

I lost soooooooooooo many mixtapes when my HDs crashed years ago. Taught me the valuable lesson of backing my shyt up.

Benadryl pumps through my adrenaline
Feeling my rap weight, I track Heavy like Tony Dofat
Hip Hop is 2% Milk but mostly no fat

Ras Kass was on some OTHER shyt lyrically on this album. I don't even think nikkas got 80% of the lines. He dumbed it down over the years

He was wilding on Jack Frost. 1994-1997 Ras Kass was an alien lyrically. Because he rapped super duper nerd rap lyrically in terms of all the technical proficiencies (punchlines, metaphors, wordplay, large vocabulary, rhyme schemes) but he also rapped about relevant social and political topics that represented the black plight. That's why I say he's the best ever lyrically at his peak. He wasn't over here coming up with metaphors about Dinosaurs and being a Hamburger like Lupe, and he wasn't rapping some intergalactical space ship alien bars like Canibus. It was real life shyt women, crooked police, inner-city struggles, gang banging, crooked government, racism, censorship, making money, etc...

Was just playing this loosie from that era earlier :ohlawd:

Anyone know the backstory behind the Ricki Lake line in this song? :lupe:

Riki Lake was known for having weight issues her whole life. It used to fluctuate like crazy. So he's just saying he's eating every rapper (bodying them lyrically) to be phat (slang back in the day for just being dope).

Capital RAS was my shyt though

"Some of my homies flag blue rags, some on the B-Side Like Lord Digga" is one of my favorite bars

:ehh: Word. That makes sense. For the longest I thought he said "gagged and gang raped like Riki lake" not "phat and gain weight" :mjlol::snoop:

I will say this about Soul On Ice. This is one of the few albums I can throw on and it'll help get my mind right whenever things stop making sense to me in the world or I lose focus of my position on this globe. :wow:
