You have to take the offenses into account though. Denver's offense hasn't done shyt all season, playoffs included. Conversely Carolina's offense led the league in scoring and showed the fukk out on two other top 5 defenses during these playoffs. Denver wasn't really trying to do shyt on offense once they had a lead. They were handing off on 3rd and long
. Carolina on the other hand got straight man-handled and shut down.

That's kind of funny you say that now. Heading into the game I feel like all I heard was that Carolina was this offensive juggernaut and how they couldn't be stopped. It didn't seem like anyone felt they had any weaknesses. In fact, there was mention that they just made light work of good defenses in Seattle and Arizona. Then, they played Denver and now it's bu bu but they didn't have any WRs. Interesting.(With that said, I was pretty damn impressed at the season they had given who they had suiting up at the WR position. It didn't help in the SB, either, that one of those receivers got hurt.)
It's also kind of disingenuous to cite to these other great defenses without also mentioning the flaws of the offenses they faced in the SBs. The Ravens faced an average QB. The Bucs didn't have to deal with a great running game. Pitt wasn't matched up against a great TE. Et cetera, et cetera.
And it wasn't just one game. The Denver D been carrying the Broncos all season long.
This is actually a great point that I ignorantly didn't really even take into consideration. Panthers D did look better to me (pause) because they competed against a much lesser offense.
They let a banged up Ben with no AB, Bell, D Will go for 350 on them
And 13pts. They had two games since then against even better offenses and throttled them.
If those drops were catches Cam prolly wins the SB
