The Steelers had the 2nd best per game offense with Ben  4 QB -less games skew the numbers.

Hardest strength of schedule too:DKCoach:

Thats great. However it has nothing to do with a playoff game where Ben was hurt and AB was out.

Yes it does, because we're evaluating how good Broncos defense is:francis:

It isn't top 5 all time

I dont know where they are all time but I know they are up there.

How does what they did to superior offenses (as presently constituted) not factor in to that evaluation? shyt how does a game where they gave up 13 and forced the gw fumble negatively impact that eval?

They let a banged up Ben with no AB, Bell, D Will go for 350 on them :yeshrug:

With zero passing touchdowns. 350 yards for only 16 points no touchdowns is pretty telling. And our strongest CB is playing on one arm.

And both of our starting safeties were out the week Brown torched us.

Not saying Brown isn't a beast and wouldn't have gave us problems but just pointing out some small caveats.

I know Denver's DBs are physical, but I would've liked to see a few more slants. It seems like Carolina was waiting on that deep ball, but Denver's D-line wasnt gonna give them time for that to develop.

That's also on the receivers too. Sometimes, u need more than just speed to get separation. You gotta be a lil physical.

Steve Smith would've been the perfect player for Carolina

1. Because they didn't play a better offense than the Steelers with Ben. (W/ Ben: Steelers 1st in YPG, 2nd PPG to AZ)

2. Because the other defense that would be in the top 5 stifled opponent's offenses. Denver in the playoffs was good in goal line stands, bend/don't break, but teams were still able to move the ball against them.

Were the Steelers who put those numbers up the same Steelers the Denver played in the playoffs? :comeon:What part of Ben being injured and AB and their top 2 running backs not being out there clearly took them down a notch do you not understand? Broncos probably didn't take them as seriously as they did the Pats and Panthers.

This is a new era. You can't play defense like you used to. Not to mention those other great defenses generally had an offense that was capable of ball control and keeping them off the field. Broncos pretty much said "fukk moving the ball" after they got a lead and really weren't that good at it when they were trying. All that said, holding the Pats and Panthers to 28 pts combined is pretty stiffling.

They aren't the best but they aren't being overrated either just because of one game. All season the defense won or kept them in every ballgame. And at times I know it was frustrating for them to hold opponents to 3 and outs and then the offense tricking it up and putting them right back on the field.

I'll give them more props for being a 90% straight man to man oriented defense and still dominating all season against some great receivers before anything, nikkas criticized the 13 Hawks for not playing any man but Denver did it and let their front 7 rush the passer and beat 2 hof bound quarterbacks while making that run, that's pretty impressive if you think about it :ehh: but I agree they don't beat the steelers with ab.

top 5 all time not even in discussion but top 5 of the last decade or even in the 10's so far they have a legit argument.

What two better offenses did the Broncos face after they beat the Steelers? Only the Patriots offense was better, and they were in Denver with a young and banged up offensive-line. The Panthers offense was not better than the Steelers offense.:mjlol:. The Panthers exposed themselves big time in the Super Bowl, and exposed themselves far before that to those with functioning eyes.

Just wait until next year when the Patriots lock up that #1 seed.

Considering in the last 15 years there's been at least 5 or 6 "all time" defenses I really don't know anymore. It seem's like every year there's at least 1 dominant defense that all the talking heads wana call an all time great defense. Very hard to compare eras. Just think about how drastically the game has changed since the early-mid 2000s.

Nah

Pit with AB would have beat em

Pats come within a missed extra point of tying the game

If those drops were catches Cam prolly wins the SB

00 Ravens and Hawks from 2 years ago>>>>

:manny:
The only reason the Patriots got back on the game was cuz both our starting safeties were out of the game and we had to use Keo on Gronk. You cant cover Gronk with a backup Safety.

Yall just love to make up excuses smh We Won, and with plenty of non offensive holding calls to boot. SUPERBOWL CHAMPS! UNTAINTED ALSO! We coming for that Back to back next year too

A healthy Panthers offense that had just run through SEA and ARI wasnt better than Pittsburgh minus their best WR, best two RBs and with Ben injured? :comeon:
