The Hook alone made it a classic, yall nikkaz once again showing your shyt taste in rap

the miami vice flip was dope, but you can't really feel this shyt unless you riding with the top down in that baby blue coup at night time downtown, dusty nikkaz can't relate
Yeah one thing I will say is that is easily drop top summer, Manhattan night time music

You held it down long enough, :demonic:let me take those reigns
yeah, this line alone made it sound like BIG was reigning for 10+ years when he's only been there from 1994-1997 and Jay came in on the heels of 1997 trying to secure his position waaay to eagerly without showing the streets how it's done with that Vol 1....this way basically Wayne's approach, too, when Wayne proclaimed "best rapper alive" in 2004 after Jay retired without that many classics under his belt yet

Song is about as mid as it gets in Jay's catalog. But Jay also has a top tier catalog. So it's hard to say when the only choices are I liked it or it was ass. I went with I liked it. :yeshrug:

Never thought about it this way. :wow:

Between this and "A Dream" Jigga always been low key disrespectful to Big since his passing lol. How you gonna have a song where Biggie comes to you in a dream, and instead of him asking how his kids are doing, or how his moms is doing, he just tell Jigga how great he is. :heh:

cant compare this to wayne.

jay was coming off of the classic reasonable doubt, and people were expecting him to grab the torch with volume one.
the expectations were already there, and this song was prolly made to address that. but jay dropped the ball with volume one, and its still stuck in the sophomore slump sector of albums.
