I'm from a small town in Cali so no, but I was a huge dipset fan. I was in HS during that time and alot of dudes was wearing pink so I think It indirectly influenced my town.

I wouldn't say huge but them fukking with Wayne definitely helped them crossover into the South, plus I came up in HS with that first wave of NYC kids that moved South under Bloomberg and they would basically dikkride the Dips to keep their NY identity

YEARS after the group disbanded, the dipset influence is still strong in just about EVERY major city. their largest influence can be seen in fashion, thanks to the styles birthed by the dipset and adopted by every wannabe "gangsta" that followed their lead: oversized fitted caps, true religion type jeans, oversized tees, etc. beyond the clothing styles, dipset also influenced the continued trend of "drug dealer" street rap that they perfected with their mixtape movement and subsequent album release. talk of "bricks," "birds," and every other drug reference used by [insert popular mixtape rapper] didn't become mainstream until dipset showed up on the scene and made it trendy.

but it wasn't as popular until dipset began pushing those stories through their mixtape hustle, which the south eventually adopted.

Popular to whom, NYers? lol

Lord Willin came out in 2002 and had more to do with guys like Wayne wanting to be coke rappers than Dip mixtapes did...Most of us didn't even acknowledge them until Juelz and Wayne started collab
