was there ever a darker era in rap than when jim jones was on every remix?

Let's not forget that One eyed willie opened up that One Blood remix

Jimmy was like 2 hits away from being a SUPERSTAR but it all went sour for him.

He had everything in place at once.

Dude was coming off the biggest record of his career.

He had become somewhat of a fashion icon.

He had a record label executive job.

He had Max AND Stacks, he was going to keep sharking their shyt so he could blow himself up first.

He had Mel Matrix, Ra Murder and them holding him down on the streets.

And looking at all these remixes, he was well respected in different regions.

He was plugged in with Ron Brownz & Webstar, right when it looked like they might be able to do something.

Plus Cam fell back, putting ALL the attention on Jimmy. But it all fell apart, and he tried to put this BS out as his first single

nikkas love to hate jim, (including me) :mjlol: but son at the time was a better all around artist than cam and was trendsetting

Dude is a rapper who can't rap but got in good position and I can't be mad at that. This was around the time of ringtone era hiphop so I can't be mad at this.
That was an era of hip hop where I was lowkey embarrassed about what the genre was putting out for the world to see. If Lupe, Nas, and Kanye hadnt put out the albums they did in that era, I mightve abandoned the genre for good.

Facts, those artist you mentioned help to save hiphop though we can say the same for most artist in this era too as for embarrassment lol. The mumble rapping is something else sometimes :russ:

Better artist? No but did the stars try to align for Jimmy? you bet...when that byrd gang shyt was going on it was looking like something...sort of like that hot second Pun was doing his thing and it looked like the Puerto Ricans was really on the verge of something
