Only mistake is being a black man daring to give advice to a woman on the internet. He goes out his way to show empathy, notes he used to be obese to the point of needing surgery, calls her beautiful etc. And it's still not good enough because a segment of the internet has decided that obesity has no health consequences and criticizing it is being anti-black. I hope folks start thinking about the real implications of all this. If we can't even be honest about diabetes and high blood pressure as black people, two things that are KILLING us....whose agenda is that, really? It's not black people's agenda, clearly.
Any time I see these freakouts on black men I think about the "go to therapy" demographic, who apparently has so much anti-black male anger and sentiment from their personal lives that it completely blinds them with rage. Maybe they should...you know...go to therapy.
