I wouldn't consider Dwight a "great" player, but his impact is undeniable IF his effort is there. I think his offense is a little better than people give him credit for, though he's not a guy you can run your offense through all game.

He's by far the best defensive center in basketball. The Lakers look like a YMCA team when he's not on the court. On offense, when he's running the floor hard and sealing guys under the basket, he draws a lot of fouls. Granted, he shoots them like shyt, but he gets teams in the penalty early and that makes the game easier for Kobe and Nash. Dwight sets brutal screens and when he reacts with the ball instead of thinking about making a post, he's pretty good at finishing.

He's not Shaq, but he's the best we got. :ld:

When Morey actually put a team around Yao, we advanced and was a team to be reckoned wiht. I always say we wouldve beatened the lakers if Kobe didnt take Yao out that series.

Props to Kobe. He did what he had to do.

Yao biggest tradegy was JVG and Carrol Dawson. JVG refused to tank that year Yao and TMac went down and then he refused to reform his rostter to contemporary NBA standards. He brought all these old has ben nigguhs around Yao(and TMac) named Juwan Howard, Jon Barry, David Wesley, Ryan Bowens, wouldnt play Steve Francis,.

i always thought Kobe took out Yao on purpose :pachaha:

he also got Metta kicked out a playoff game too

will we ever have an allstar game with as many prime or young HOF centers as the 93 allstar game?

If Yao couls stay healthy he coud hav ebeen a GOAT he had a very refines skillset for a center and his height made him unstoppable withion 12 ft, but he had a surprisingly wet jay.

Was he the last great true center? Now we have soft unskilled centers like dwight. :sadcam:

Everything you said here is true except for the 'soft' and 'unskilled' part.

Dwight Howard gets a shaft because a lot of stories have developed around him, but he's a great, great player.
