Oregon caught lightning in a bottle with Chip Kelly. Chip showed up when USC was under, frankly BS sanctions. And his O along with Phil Knight support changed a lot of CFB. Chip left, most of CFB caught up. It is what it is.

Bottom line, CFB is about recruiting and coaching. Oregon had Coaching, it is now gone.
