Imma need you Brehs to wake up and realize what’s happening because THAT is not what is killing traditional Media.

The oligarchs are killing traditional media.

Americans are so damn propogandized that we blame ourselves—your post indirectly is—instead of looking at Bezos, Zuckernerd, Musty and them as the blame.
People reading headlines only

Trump and his folks making “fake news” a thing where people call out actually true news saying it’s fake. I mean people don’t even know wtf be going on out here not even weather wise. Imagine living in North Carolina in places that don’t typically get a ton of snow… but not even realizing that you are about to get hit with a foot of snow. That’s where we are now. Either people don’t believe shyt or don’t know wtf is going on. We can talk about who it what is killing media, it doesn’t help when people aren’t even informed on simple shyt going on in their cities and state :snoop:

TYRONE GA!
Bro, they own the internet. It’s them.

Google manipulating their algo to push down traditional outlets and boost their summaries, Facebook punishing outlets on their algo unless they bought boosted posts, etc.

It's them. And now they out here buying up traditional outlets to prop their ideology onto venerable outlets.

There is a new world order happening right now and we aren't paying attention.
you not wrong, but I'm talkin about sports scores and shyt fam. :pachaha:

don't need google or FB fukkery for that.

he got what he wanted, trump losing in 2020. When Trump won in 24, he lost motivation to use the Post as a cudgel against Trump and dgaf anymore if it survives.
That’s not why he bought the Post and he was at Trump’s inauguration.

Exactly. Anything these billionaire oligarchs and technocrats touch, they ruin.

The internet played a part, but it's not the main reason

Jeff Bezos basically paid Melania 75 million dollars for the rights to her movie.

That money had to come from somewhere.

Bye bye sports department

as a kid growing through the sports section was :blessed: looking at different stats, league leaders, etc.
Yep.

We "like" convenience with the Internet and all that, but there was nothing like getting that newspaper and going to the sports section and seeing the top 25 rankings with the "others receiving votes" at the bottom:banderas:

Print media was virtually dead way before that. I used to pick up the NY Daily News all the time on my way to school and we'd look through the sports section. Sometimes my neighbors would be done with their paper and give it away. People on the subway would hand you theirs because they finished reading it. The Sunday paper was delivered to our door and damn near everyone in our building. Newspapers were everywhere. All the bodegas and news stands had them.

Once smart phones became a thing buying papers was obselete.

I know this

What im saying is the owner of the Washington post basically just made a 75 million dollar donation to the first lady to buy influence in the white house

That influence is being paid for off the backs of everybody about to lose their jobs, and it's a great time for this administration. Biggest newspaper in DC wont be bringing u headlines from the world cup/Olympic protests.

Doesn't have anything to do with readership, or u would see newspapers across the shutting down their sports departments.

Its more about about the red team taking control of the nations media outlets

yes it was. him and Trump feuded heavily during Trump’s first term. Bezos is just a bytch who bent the knee this go around. He was shook that a petty and vengeful Donald Trump would do his best to ruin Amazon.

Sports media and coverage is GARBAGE these days.
You're looking at this from a macro viewpoint. I have a relative who's a local sportswriter and covered Maryland and Penn State for The Athletic. These companies want the eyes and clicks, the coverage be damned. There are writers who give you all what you want with no fluff, no fanfare. And we all ignore them because they're not entertaining or bombastic in their delivery. But to show you they don't care, my cousin covered PSU mostly and filled in when MD was good or had a decent matchup. Pay to have him there to ask questions or have eyes on the product? fukk no. They had a corporate account that let them view all 22 in game or NBA LIve 95 view a basketball game. Press conference? Better know someone there who you can shoot your question to, otherwise, they just listen in to the AP livestream and base their columns off the questions their peers ask. Told him to prep to go to cover the Big 10 title game but he turned it down because they stiffed him on refunding him coming out of pocket paying for room and rental the last time he went out of town. Then put a cap on how much you could file to get recouped. Big media and the folks that own them have fukked this all up and there's no coming back from this unless the next Dem Prez breaks all this shyt up and forces a trust busting that's never been seen before.
