But didn't Coke outsell K dot?
Cole is hotter right now
Cole is hotter right now
Yeah, but you're an anomaly in your age group. People in my age group blew J. Cole up and then it trickled down to those younger than us and persists with those in their late teens to the whole college-grad student group. He sells because his fanbase actually has money and invests in him as a person because he embodies them to some way. He also put on some dope projects (I'm a fan). But to someone not cut from that, they don't understand his appeal. Most J. Cole haters are old heads if you ever notice. No one 30 or below hates on J. Cole. On the flip side, I think they overrate Kendrick because of safe-rebellious raps. I'm a fan of him too, but it's wild. Cole will be here awhile because his fanbase identifies with him and will grow with him. This is why his last project sold more than K. Dot's -- without the commercial singles and hype as savior, it came down more to core fanbases and J. Cole's core fanbase is larger. J. Cole is bigger than Kendrick everywhere BUT the West Coast. All his albums are better than BTH to me. BTH is the definition of boring to me but whatever.
You can say whatever you want about Cole being boring or whatever, but obviously a lot of people fukk with dude because he sells a lot of records and has lasted a while in hip-hop years. He's doing something that makes him compelling to a fan base.
both those fan bases are threatened by cole.Whever J Cole is bought up,people seem to say "I like Kendrick better" or "I like Drake better"....I don't think I've ever seen anything like it,it happens consistently
I don't know what it is about J cole that makes people feel the neeed to say they like 2 different nikkas more,I don't think I've ever heard anybody just say "Nah I don't like J Cole",they always gotta add in how Kendrick or Drake is better
I don't know if that's a bad thing,or a good thing saying he's on the heels of both of them,in two completely separate lanes![]()

Drake fans who mostly isn't even that deep rooted in the culture never understood why people like cole better and they been compare since 09
Kendrick semi came out of nowhere but honestly never had a bigger core fanbase then cole. And dudes act like they didn't see the hype machine behind gkmc even tho it was a great album. A lot of people just not that big on Kendrick
And his last album semi flopped due to all the promo and push around it
The push he got was pretty much to move him to the next level, and he didn't reach it. He actually got pasted up by cole and album was pretty much forgotten about.Platinum is a flop for a CD in 2015?
This and my last response proves my point about the unnecessary hatred Kendrick get. To be honest, that's probably why this Article was written in the first place.

They made his song that nobody was feeling the official song of the nba and pushed it like crazy and even had it nominated for a Grammy even tho the actual people was feeling it.
Son kunta didn't get that push. I did tho, I seem like the album had short legs cause they haven't been pushing no more singles, unlike how they did on gkmc, probably already went past they budget son. The album was suppose to push him into that drake popularity, not have him stay in that exact position, seem like he scared of the spotlight anyway, after the control situation dude been acting wild weirdHe didn't get gassed up, that's not what happened and you know it.
And you're right about "i" and "king kunta", I'm still trying to figure out how and why they went with them.
But you ain't about to Troll me like that. Especially not on no Saturday night. You can kick your own ass for that
