Josh Norman's fake bow-and-arrow celebration leads to five-figure fine

Redskins cornerback Josh Norman was fined $10,000 by the NFL for an unsportsmanlike-conduct penalty called against him over drawing an imaginary bow and arrow during Sunday’s victory against the Cleveland Browns. Norman said he will appeal the fine.

The flag occurred in the fourth quarter after Norman had recorded his first interception as a member of the Redskins. He has celebrated previous plays similarly this season, but this was the first time Norman was flagged for the gesture. Norman said there wasn’t any dialogue prior to the penalty about celebrating a play in such a manner that would be viewed as poor sportsmanship. He also argued that he was approaching the sideline when he drew the bow and arrow and did not use the football as a prop.

“I’m going to have my speech on it and see what happens,” Norman said. “Hopefully and I’m praying that they eliminate the $10,000 fine because I just feel like that was too much. At the same time, we’ll see how it all goes. Whatever the outcome is, I respect and I respect the league for what they’re trying to do.”

It’s the second straight week Norman has been fined by the league. He received a $48,620 fine for an unnecessary-roughness penalty against the New York Giants after he hit wide receiver Sterling Shepard. The officials viewed Shepard as a defenseless receiver on the 12-yard catch. Norman has yet to hear back from his appeal on this fine.

“It’s kind of one of those things where when you’re the hunted, you’ve just got to continue to rise above it all,” Norman said.

Why was this cross conference game scheduled? This should be a preseason game.
IINM, NFCE and AFCN play each other every four years.

I got the ravens by 10 points
No bull, I can't even remember the last time the Ravens won by 10 or more, never mind in a laugher. Was it @ PIT in the wild card game a couple years ago?

I'm expecting nothing less than a close one the whole way through, with a last-minute score/defensive stand deciding it.
