Should have made the pick LOTTERY PROTECTED as the Wizards are not shoe ins for the postseason. It'd be poetic justice if the Wizards are 13 or 14 in the lottery and lose the pick, while missing the playoffs, and losing Gortat in free agency.
nikka, shut your dumbass up. Year after year you be devising schemes on how the Wizards could lose so they can draft some bust :stop:
We got a great team TODAY, and here you are focusing on what the most fukked up scenario can be
And how they should have protected themselves from this bullshyt scenario you concocted :laff:

How about, Wizards looking like a 1,2 seed right now and :umad: about that (Story Tru)

stfu, you may as well change your user name to Ernie Grunfeld cause that's all you do. Blindly fall in love with all of his moves

you're an idiot

Look clown, the draft with Vesely and Singleton. You and everyone else was DYING TO land singleton.
And he's a decent player. Him not dominating is not really his fault as much as it is DC not developing players properly
Stop acting like you was against the Singleton deal, and Vesely is supposed to be a project.
Do you know what that means? Not one year, not two years. Year 3 is now, you trying to tell me we been developing him right when he hardly got any time at all last year

And the year we traded away the Rubio pick for Randy Foye and Mike Miller.
What happened next? We land the #1 pick, and did what the OWNERS wanted done.
But here you are, attempting to blame the bad on Grunsfeld while not even acknowledging the good.
Even Gortat you said you like the move, but you hate the guy who did it. Its just to save his job :sadbron:
No dumbass, its to improve the Wizards. Mission Accomplished :blessed:

I don't mind Gortat on the Wizards but I am enraged by the idiot who made the decision and that is Ernie Grunfeld. He is desperate to save his job and if he was soooo concerned about having a young big, he should have gotten one in the 2013 draft. Especially with Glen Rice looking like a legit player and Otto Porter being out with various injuries in his young career. It's just a POOR use of resources. You potentially give up a pick in the teens which could net a future starter (if a real GM was picking of course) for a one year rental of a guy who probably move on next year.

The cap flexibility was going to be there either way. The 2011 draft was a colossal bust with Vesley and Singleton, that bullshid has set the franchise back and the 2009 draft is not too far behind as Ernie did something very similar trading away the #5 for a one year rental of Foye and Miller. The rationale in 2009 was "Arenas is back healthy, Jamison and Butler are still here, let's make a run to the conference finals before Abe dies!"

And we've seen how that turned out. This year they are dead set to be an 8th seed and get swept by MIA or whoever.

It's amazing he has a job still.

Grunfeld should have been fired years ago. That Jewish pass is something else.

Dope trade...Just one thing. Are they honestly planning on starting Gortat and Nene? Or is Nene more than likely coming off the bench?

Vesley and Singleton options were just declined. Even EG knows they were busts

Going to start both but Nene would love to come off the bench and dominate 2nd units in limited minutes

Good deal by the Wiz. Should have tried to fully protected the pick through the lottery though since the Suns wanted to trade Gortat anyway. Reason they should have protected all the way through the lottery is injury concerns. Nene is always hurt, Harrington has been hurt for a couple years now, & if Wall gets hurt their in trouble.

I really hope they stay healthy this season. And Wall needs to chill with the turnovers. I saw a few pre-season games and he's been reckless and careless as hell with the ball. Beal is starting to look like the "guy" though. That backcourt will be a problem if Wall can improve in the turnover department.

It's crazy how fast NBA teams get rid of high draft picks. Suns just grabbed Kendall Marshall in the lottery before last season and already giving up on him and shipping him out elsewhere.
He can't shoot. He didn't need to be drafted in the first place.
