Watching Alicia Keys destroy John legend in the Verzus battle tonight made me realize something

yea I think when Alicia started fukking w Swizz, her star power kinda faded because of the perceived notion that she was the side chick when Swizz was with Mashonda.
Also, she took some time off to have a kid which also took her out the spotlight.
Nobody took Alicia’s spot for awhile because to be honest, Alicia’s talented as fukk with the different instruments, and the ability to sing at least decent. Plus, she was different from the girls who were out around the same time Mya, Beyoncé, etc
Then H.E.R. came along and I can see her taking Alicia’s lane with the whole sweet, wholesome girl persona and it’s eerie because even their speaking voices are similar; they both have that raspy kinda seductive tone.
all that being said, Alicia is still as beautiful as when she dropped “You Dont Know My Name” .

Alicia Keys music can be played 20/30 years from now and be timeless. Can’t say the same for Beyoncé’s chicken head anthems though. She couldn’t even sing any of her songs for Obama’s Inauguration.
Stop lying. NOBODY is playing alicia keys shyt anymore. I don't even hear folks playing or even talking about her recent shyt. The media talks about her more than the public does which shows you who really is pushing her here. Her music wasnt that good to begin with. To me, she was always mediocre music wise and couldn't sing to save her life. Her music was boring and bland as shyt. I was not impressed with that "fallin in love" song as well as that "you dont know my name" joint. Personally, I think that beat was trash which would fit Alicia's singing just well but I also think that someone with way more talent musically could have made a wwwwwaaaayyyyy better record.
It's even worse now so I heard from other people. Not going out my way to hear her strain her voice like she has all over the airwaves for almost 20 years. Shes one pulled vocal muscle away from sounding like fingernails scratching against a chalkboard. Save the children, Alicia. Stop singing. You basically are an industry plant/creation of Clive Davis that co-opted the neo soul movement with your trash. Straight up pop trash taking neo soul elements that is basically ambiguous as fukk/marketable + safe image (not too clean but not too edgy)=money and let's keep it a 100.... it was her that was the trojan horse to why r&b hasn't been the same since.
I'm convinced shes a plant when the media didn't drag her for the blood and crip/cia comments. They just reported what she said and it just disappeared.
