Lemonade was a massive jump in topic, themes, music, style, and content. There hasn't been anything of that quality in the pop-R&B area of music that was also that popular, in over a decade.Hold on. Let’s get some facts. Whilst I’m not a fan of Beyoncé’s music, I can recognize her talent as a singer and performer. Ashanti shouldn’t even be mentioned in the same breath as her. The only time she released music was when Beyoncé was taking a break.
Getting back to Alicia Keys... is her voice as good as Beyoncé’s! No. Are her performances as memorable as her? Absolutely not. No one can deny Beyoncé’s star power and stage presence.
Having said that? Her music is absolute trash. Janet Jackson, Alicia Keys, TLC etc, their music has reached a wide demographic because their songs are well written, span many topics and are just damn good songs.
Im embarrassed when I see a near 40 year old Beyoncé singing her songs. I’m sure she does too thinking “I’m too old to be singing this chicken head shyt“
Over two decades in the game and she has never shown growth artistically, even with the plethora of song writers. You can see Growth with artists like Prince from “For You” to “Love Sexy.” With Michael from “Off The Wall” to “HIStory”. Hell, even George Michael with his pop hits with WHAM! To his more mature albums like “Older” and “Patience.”
I tried to give Beyoncé a chance, but can you really say she’s matured as an artist? Her music follows the same basic formula that appeals to fags and hood rats. That’s why they get so defensive when we don’t fawn over her like we do.

Thanks you breh, the music, songs and albums are all opinions, hell Diary of Alicia keys is a straight up classic. But there isn’t anyone with any type of vocal knowledge that would say Alicia keys is a better singer. She often sings off key and she has no range. Now she can sometimes sound good if she stays in her small window but that’s about it.
