Season 2 will definitely be a change of pace on your first viewing. You'll appreciate it more when you rewatch the entire series again though. I HATED season 2 on first viewing.

Season 2 starts slow but it overall made the wire a better tv show

i rewatch this and sopranos at least once a year. shyt is classic
sucks they kill off avon barksdale in the first episode of the second season and mcnulty is also killed off by bunk of all people in that drug sting that goes awry. who would've thought bunk was crooked n working with stringer the entire time

I hate all the political scenes and plots

I hated all the boat yard shyt too

I loved all the hood shyt

The kids come in at the right time because that shyt was getting stale

Getting stale? Breh the show peaked in season 3.


Edit: I'm remember HBO wanting to stop there because they feared they couldn't top Season 3.

But somehow they found a way

Don't let them tell you bad things about Season 2.

That was necessary so you see how ALL of Baltimore was affected. Plus you had to see where all that dope comes from who gets it into the hands of the street guys.

You nikkas kill me with this .season 2 is about eastern european organized crime using union stevedores to smuggle women, drugs and chemicals into Baltimore through the port. Season was fantastic

I've heard this phrase between this show and Game of Thrones. Finished up Game of Thrones last month and the acclaim is warranted.

Game of Thrones isn't fukking with The Wire. I'd put The Sopranos and Breaking Bad in the same tier if anything.

season 2 isn’t as bad as people make it out to be.

Season 2 wasn't bad at all, the pacing was just slow and plot was misunderstood by some folks. As good as S3 & S4 were, S2 is probably my favorite and holds a special place with me.
