my nephews are apart of that generation and the put it on easy mode. Try to get them to play a game with some challenge to them [Alan Wake was one for example] the games are "stupid" when they aren't easy

Tried to put my friends on to Mass Effect but they're so hooked on Halo and Gears of War type games now that its tough for them to shift back to something that takes a bit more thought and time to finish. We're all the same age but its just funny how shooter games have really taken away patience in some gamers. Like one of my friends really wanted to argue with me that Halo is the greatest game ever and I said nah for me it's Ocarina of Time and he said that can't be the greatest game because no one can beat it:stopitslime:

Me: :sas1: I did:sas2:

Seems like final bosses have completely died off

Up until PS3/360 it seemed like it was mandatory to have a final boss that tested all your skills up to that point, now seems like hardly any game has that and some action games don't have any bosses at all.

Went through Bioshock Infinite expecting to have an epic fight with that giant bird that terrorizes you the entire game and all I got was a 2 hour cutscene I was like wtf

Breh I got scores of genesis and SNES games that were never beaten. Just too tough and of course I was a spoiled kid so that didn't help matters either. But not being able to save games was a pain too. I'm not trying to start back from square one anytime I leave the house or have to go to school.

Serious Sam
That game was sooooooooo funnnnnnnn, but I don't think they'll make something like that ever again....... we had loadssss of fun with that game.
Remember serious sam..... loved those times!!!

The other thing that I think is good from the old times and may never return was the level of stealth in Tenchu, it was so much fun.
Now they got thief but it's not the same experience and surprisingly way more unrealistic.

Man there used to be this spot not too far form my house that they called a console cafe or some shxt.

It was basically an arcade but with OG Xboxes and big ass monitors shxt was too fun :banderas:

I remember when there really was a logic to being console gamer like not having to wait for installs/updates, actually playing with people next to you, huge variety of unique and fun titles that you could just pop in the disc play for some hours, leave come back and have some great memories from that.

Now the gap between PC and Console is just graphics basically, and PC gaming wins in that department.

Anybody else miss REAL 2 player Co-op? That was my shxt :to:

Spot on about games being too easy now. Yea there is usually hard modes but you can set it to easy and blow through most games in a weekend.

I got NES Metroid as a kid and had to draw my own maps. shyt took hours just to figure out as a 7 yr old. No internet to look up hints. Either had to call the nintendo power hotline ($1.99/min i think :beli:) or know a friend who got farther than you. And the actual gameplay was still hard as shyt even if you knew where to go. But that satisfaction of beating a game like that :banderas:
