I miss cheat codes/gamesharks the most. Sometimes I just want to rape the game and not have to work to hard. Gamesharking Xenogears.. :whew: That game was too puff.

I miss the OG Playstation era:to: Final Fantasy VII Metal Gear Solid Resident Evil:whew:

Side note 1998 was the GOAT year for gaming:lawd:

LOL part of the "participation trophy generation" breh. Games can't be too tough anymore because kids will cry and complain about it not beating them. I got homies who still haven't beaten Ocarina of Time or Mario 64 and just gave up because it was too tough. Imagine coming out with a game like that now?

God damn

I miss beat em ups like final fight, turtles, xmen, captain america etc..

Guardian Heroes, Street of Rage, etc.

One thing I loved about old school gaming was gaming was it's own domain and unlike anything else and they were willing to take risks. You had games like Bomberman, Poy Poy, PowerStone, Dragon Force, and a bunch of completely original titles. Now gaming is becoming Hollywoodized, and so many games are following a formula

Gameplay being valued over graphics.

Games being 80 hours long because space was being used to flesh out the game instead of for graphics.and dust particles in the air, leaves moving, etc

Yo, even with a gameshark it still took my 60 hours to beat xenogears. :damn: it probably would have taken me the whole summer to complete without it.

That goes in hand with budgets for games ballooning. If games didn't improve visually, people would then complain about a lack of "next gen." People value gameplay and all that still but then you'd have lots of cats complaining about paying hundreds of dollars for a console that seems to still be stuck on yesterday's tech. Look at Nintendo's situation, they seem to improve their titles with each generation graphically and gameplay still is top notch but the lack of better hardware capable of cutting edge techs makes them get either third party titles that are gimped compared to their other versions or outright not getting them. Who really wants to play Bayonetta 2 on a Wii U?? shyt would've been way better on a PS4 or PC.

That's why these indie games coming out seem like a nice counter balance as a lot of them seem to remind me of the type of games that would come out back then. Now you can have your cake and eat it too.

The difficulty in games used to make it feel like more of an accomplishment when you did beat it, and the skills it took to beat em carried over. So now when kids are playing these newer games they're used to that basic level difficulty and expect it to be like that in every game.

I think the Batman games have a good balance of difficulty. Yea detective vision shows you what you need to do pretty much but some of those fight sequences are tricky.

Bought the FFX remaster 2 weeks ago and it made me think younger gamers wouldn't have the patience it took to level grind before moving to the next area. Then they'll get to a boss they can't beat and put the game down.
