definitely the latter. people are way too quick to bring up cte when a football player takes their lives. some folks just handle adversity or setbacks differently, in all walks of life

Honestly, if folks really knew about the hours that get put in by players behind the scenes you'd be surprised it doesn't happen more often. There ain't a NFLPA to keep coaches honest when it comes to the NCAA time restrictions

if someone gets to college football and has several childhood years of football under their belt, they probably have some extent of cte. the percentage of college kids playing football resorting to suicide is minimal, and probably is less than the percentage of college kids overall that resort to ending their lives. cte is just an easy answer for the "why" part of the equation for the sports world i guess. as sad as it is, some people just have so much rope, and when they get to the end of it the only question anymore is whether they take anyone with them when that knee-jerk decision to end it is made. doesnt matter if youre an nfl millionaire or working at walmart. people just handle adversity, grief, life events etc differently

Everywhere...You never there.
... sometimes you gotta check on your people and make sure they good mentally

Really gotta look for changes in their routines, habits and interactional characteristics ... a lot of times they’ll present as their “normal” selves ... perhaps even more jovial than normal, then one they self later that day.

Gotta look for more reclusion, withdrawal... starting to consistently care less about things they cared about ... a wholesale shift in perspective that’s seemingly out the blue... check for affect. But honestly , unless you’re around or communicating with that person a lot, you’ll likely never know. Once you get out of college, it’s tough to keep up with folks.

And often when folks are at that point , it really ain’t no more talking. Preemption is the key.

Underscores the point of trying to make sure you continue to cultivate your relationships as an adult.

Everyone wants to be mad at me for a joke but the reality is that this isn’t anything shocking. It’s not even likely connected to CTE or anything like that.

This country has a massive gun culture — probably a manic obsession with guns — and yet you all act shocked and sad when a cac with a gun offs himself.

Who the fukk would you expect this to happen to in this country anyway? Read the fukkin news you delicate snow flakes.

Yall see a kid killed himself and felt the need to first, think of a joke, then type it in and hit post reply.

Smh. :camby:

It's completely race related. I don't agree with it because life is precious regardless of race, but cats on here are always going to ngaf about white people's issues.

It could happen to anyone. Never know what people are going through in life. And to say guns or gun culture had anything to do with him committing suicide is incredibly dense on your part.

:mjlol:

Americans own more guns than any country on earth and account for more gun violence than any country on earth.

You really think this is just a product of sadness or stress?
