Changed wrestling forever, and not in a good way. WCW (and ECW) being purchased like that did long lasting damage to the industry. I don’t care what people think about HHH’s booking today, I won’t let people revise history as if Vince wasn’t terrible for wrestling after a certain point. All that “we miss Vince” nonsense just cause LA Knight has had stop start pushes. It’ll take a LONG time for HHH to do the damage to wrestling like Vince did.
Sting openly didn’t come over because he didn’t trust Vince, especially because of how dirty Booker got done in his feud with the Rock. Think about how many guys from 2001-18 Vince buried as punishment for getting over without his permission and had no other place to work.

What a fumble by Bischoff. Was the price only 2.5 for Vince? Or could Bischoof not find people to pay that? Hogan could have bought it for that much. I guess that doesn't take into account the financial obligations. But didn't the people who didn't want to take paycuts not transition?

Wrestling despite its viewership back then, wasn’t seen as valuable TV content due to advertisers seeing wrestling fans as low brow entertainment. Without a TV network to go to, WCW wasn’t worth nearly as much.

Sure. Why couldn't Bischoff come up with the money though. The IP is probably worth is.

He only wanted to continue running it as a TV show promotion much like early TNA was. His plan was to set up a studio in Vegas for the meantime and once they settled financially, run some events. No point in buying IP if there no TV to promote content.
