If Keuchel was cool with a team friendly deal, don't you think he woulda signed a long time ago?

Long story short, he turned down 5/$90 in 2016 cuz he thought he was gonna fukk around and get money like Yu Darvish or Patrick Corbin got and coming off a mehh year, no one wants to give him 5 years AND give up draft compensation/Int'l bonus pool money.

The reason why he's a free agent right now is because Keuchel needs to make $70 mil just to avoid taking a major L and he hired Boras thinking he can make up that money and more.

I don't believe Cashman had a plan for him whatsoever. It was one of those things where he just so happened to be available. So now he's winging it, and using the "versatility" angle as a smokescreen to justify signing him. And because of this, Bird or Voit(Likely Bird) will get sent to Scranton.
