Sounds like they're going limit German's innings at some point.. They're probably banking on Severino and Montgomery coming back after the All Star break, but I wouldn't be counting on them. Even more of a reason to sign Keuchel.

You don’t sign Keuchel with the purpose of having him fill in innings for someone else. For that, they woulda promoted Gio and went with a 6 man rotation.

Besides, Keuchel seems to still be hung up on his value.


Montgomery should be back in August and then off we go. If Severino is back by then, worrying about German’s innings limit won’t be necessary.
