Here’s the thing: is homefield even necessary? I’d rather play the Twins in the 1st round, and this team has more than capable of winning on the road. I look at homefield as more of a luxury. And if you need homefield to win a title, then you probably don’t deserve to win.

You can say the same about preferred matchups in the playoffs. Do you really deserve to win if you're afraid of playing a team in the playoffs? Homefield mattered in 2017 and I'm not saying to go all out but it's not meaningless to get it imo.
