nowhere in my questions did I suggest anyone changed their mind overnightA carve out means outside of Ultimate there is no guarantee you get a Call of Duty game in any frame of time. Ultimate gets it day one. Premium has asterisk that says not within a year but doesn't specify getting it at all and Essentials is inferior to even that.“carve out”? what are you talking about?
There’s clearly a much larger investment in content right now than ever before.
They knew in late 2023 when they were asked about Blade from Arkane and wouldn't nail it down as an Xbox exclusive. It's clear this was a long term plan not something that came up later.nowhere in my questions did I suggest anyone changed their mind overnight
All games are the same.A carve out means outside of Ultimate there is no guarantee you get a Call of Duty game in any frame of time. Ultimate gets it day one. Premium has asterisk that says not within a year but doesn't specify getting it at all and Essentials is inferior to even that.
Why is that single series given an exemption on coming to Game Pass tiers other than Ultimate? It's clearly because they'd rather people buy the game to maximize profits.
On Xbox material it specifically says Call of Duty is excluded from Premium getting it the first year. Beyond that it says nothing. Does that mean after the first year Premium will get it? Within 2 years? Ever? Can't be answered because they purposely did not say anything in their video and put that carve out as an asterisk on their plan breakdown picture. All games are the same.
Day one is ultimate.
Within the first year for premium.
COD is not unique in that regard.

YouTube TV is still notably cheaper than a cable or satellite TV bundle and that's it's main competition. You're paying 30% to 50% more for those bundles.Biggest live service streaming platform in the world

Ironically enough is the most expensive subscription service.
It's legitimately the same scenario no matter how you slice it. It's almost 90 bucks a month for YouTube TV at its base level and most dudes who get it end up adding the NFL ticket.YouTube TV is still notably cheaper than a cable or satellite TV bundle and that's it's main competition. Game Pass was a great impulse purchase at a low price that raised it's price to a point where people are given pause and a lot seem to be cancelling. It's like they hit the Netflix price escalation without reaching the must have status Netflix did that gave it leverage to do that.
Game Pass will just shed subscribers and be destroyed by churn. You don't need to carry a subscription 365 days of the year. Maybe 3-4 different months a year you hop in and play the games you want then cancel.

But the value is there if you actually are being rational. But the same people who'll say "nobody has time to play all those games" are the same people that will sub to YouTube TV and watch 2-3 channel for a couple hours and add the NFL package.
You don't need most subscriptions 365 days of the year yet people do it all the time but with gamepass "it's different"
Gamepass ultimate is the YouTube TV of live and on demand gaming content at a better value
