Larger tech companies are almost always hiring boot-campers for rotational roles and seeking out devs/engineers from non-traditional work & education backgrounds.

Really bad advice being given in this thread.



Can explain a little further? Are you saying that those folks have a good chance at getting a good job?

I'm saying that knowledge that can be demonstrated is more important than the source that is comes from. That source could be college, self-teaching, or yes, a bootcamp.

If you don't have experience, it's not super difficult to get an entry level job by creating a presence on Github and contributing to open source projects. Or participating in Hackathons. Some devs are essentially using their Github and Stack Overflow profiles as resumes these days.

I live in a major tech hub and most hiring managers out here couldn't care less about a CS degree.

Its a good time to get in the game brehs...Im interviewing two females tomorrow.

Im bringing in a cac, next week in at $93/hr because we need .NET with Autocad experience......:mjgrin:

The boot camp games is whats bringing in the contract to hires.......we still fukk with people out of school....but they not ready for primetime
So boot campers are being chosen over schools now? Wtf
