Ok bruh....I'm 10 years in the game and can say that's BS especially if you just want to do web development

I can go into details how that's a bad move

So breh, put me on. What is the market looking for right now? What area are you in? How do you get your foot in the door??

I would say you don't have to start out with Algorithms and data structures and mathematics, but it's something you eventually want to learn if the web development market takes a hit and you want to be able to move around in the industry.

Learn to code - for free
http://codeschool.com

if you're interested after checking either of those out, look into a Udemy course.
if i got virtually no coding exp aside from a few web dev classes in highschool
what can i do after learning python on codecademy?
like what type of jobs can i get into and how much would they pay
who tf needs people w/ python skills and what can they do with it?

also whats the diff between full stack web dev vs regular web dev

whats better to learn, python, java or SQL

help a breh eat :feedme:

I know this wasn't addressed to me but them science classes are killers.

I'm taking Physiology right now and am struggling. Bio is a killer too fam and I have to take it next semester after getting an F in it the prior semester because the professor was trash and most the kids failed.

I need my degree :mjcry: Can't wait to be done.
the higher ed/schooling game is dirty out here fam

i hope u overcome

once youre done you will be substantially better off but what some people have to go thru and have to pay to get thru it is just dirty
they stay hustling ppl out their hard earned money :wow:

I would say first, create a github account and start doing your own projects so you can build a portfolio, while doing this, attend your local developer meetups so you can meet people who are already employed in the field and people in the community can begin to recognize you. One of the best parts of the meetups is being able to contribute to a group project on github and learn to work in a group setting.

I'd recommend getting familiar with javascript because that may be the quickest path to employment.

The market is looking for "full stack" revs which just mean they have experience with tools for front and back end development.

School + learning on the job got me prepared....

The boot camps I speak of are the fastest route in the door in you dont want a college degree.

You can learn on your own but you will have to have programs out there in your name for someone to take you serious without any paperwork.

Indeed thanks.

I actually did it man, got my degree and went to the ceremony in May. All the hard work paid off but you're right in saying college can be a hustle.

That's a fact. Just look at all the bachelors of psychology majors and liberal arts majors out there. It's all a money making game for them and the longer they can keep you the more money they make. They charge you for every damn thing, including even year books.

although true, them nikkas did it to themselves by not majoring in STEM/business

If u dont do the proper research to see what career paths and income certain majors lead to then you played yaself :yeshrug:
Very true but part of that comes from being young and not knowing what you want to do.

studied economics.

in retrospect i should have studied some discipline of computer science or something like statistics
That's what's up man, that's still a good major but you're right in that computer science is the future.
