You're lookin' at one of the symptoms, not the causes. Christianity is not WHY folks don't know their history. It just one of the weapons used to separate us from it.

And instead of insultin', why not just teach?

I've concluded the following hinderances to Black growth in America

1) Lack Of Economic Resources
2) Religious mysticism

When enveloped in the christian philosophy you are following Christ who promoted to turn the other cheek. This was a philosophy adopted by Martin Luther King who borrowed it from Ghandi yet half a million people in India were killed following ghandi proving that such a philosphy doesnt work. More proof that it doesnt work is the fact that it is a philosophy still adopted by Black folks today when you see us marching for crumbs. Over 50 years later and most still cant open their eyes to see that this turning the cheek philosophy doesnt work. When you are told to love your enemy you put your guard down and cant properly fight your enemy..

to mock african americans.......

:snoop:

No....U missed the point so I'll repeat it again:

Pointing out the irony of Black people saying 'we come from kings and queens" only for most Blacks to not be able to name 5 African kings or queens.

Most of u are responding with emotion and didnt even catch what i said.

Or..and a simpler explanation is that American schools don't teach African history.

American schools dont teach Hip Hop either but i bet a bunch of Black folks in America can name over 30 rappers.

Like I said we are in the social media access...There are no more excuses.
If A Black person can name a rapper and can give some background info on that rapper then there is no excuse to spout cliches saying "we come from Kings and Queens" if u cant back them up.

You're changin' the topic a bit.

I agree these are and can be major hinderances. But we have enough economic resources to make power moves. It's the lack of unity & knowledge keepin' us slaves. Knowin' the system and actin' collectively is the key.

As for Christian philosophy, turnin' the other cheek is not what I got from the bible. There is much violence in the bible. Folks choose to interpret and preach what they want.

I believe MLK made the moves he thought he could make under the circumstances. We all know what happen when he became more radical.

LMAO.....Most of ya'll arent even hearing me.

Some of ya'll came in here emotional.....Not even paying attention to what I'm pointing out.

Basically I'm saying its a bad look to say something cliche with no knowledge or background history on the cliche being said.

nikkas in here like "well if we weren't taught...". The 1 and only point of this thread is if nikkas are gonna keep throwing words around like "kings" and "Queens" then at least TEACH YOURSELF who/what a king or queen is/was and carry yourself like one...I've seen nikkas talking about king and queen this and that when they were obviously closer to being "peasants"

We do??

So where is this Black media to counter Fox news??

Why is there so much high Black employment??

You dont sound like someone who has traveled when u talk like that.

All that violence u speak of happens in the old testemant before Jesus. I'm talking about after Jesus came and gave his philosophy.

Yes...I do know what happens when we(as humans) become more radical. We saw it when Greece finally conquered Egypt and when the barbarians finally conquered Rome and when the British colonized North America. It creates a takeover and new power structure that thrives.
