this is one of those things which is beyond what the average person knows and understands.

another reason why I can't participate in this "we negotiated with terrorists" trope

besides we negotiate with terrorists all the time
shyt we probably surreptitiously sell them weapons

all black folks was concerned about getting this black face in the whitehouse
let me stop you right here
and say two things for myself (and not for "all black folks")
1. I was very much and still am a great proponent of this idea
2. it was not just any black face I wanted however, there are black people I could not support for this mission
Obama though, was perfect
Black wife, black kids, black grandma
great CV

I wish he could spend another 30 years in office
because it means another 30 years of black and white children seeing black people in positions of power and prowess-political and intellectual- and getting comfortable with the idea
to me this is the best PR for black Americans in ages
if you believe images count, and I do, then this was the mother-load
I can't complain about the images in rap and "reality tv" and not absolutely love the idea of a fully fleshed black. educated. nuclear family. connected. accomplished. being put on tv 24/7 on the greatest reality show ever. I simply can't complain about that. There are so many reasons why black people (AND WHITE PEOPLE who believe in bending the arc of history towards justice) should be thrilled with Obama
The effect the Obamas will have will not be understood for another decade or two and will resonate forever into the future of this country, they are as they say a game changer, whether or not black adults get the full ramifications of this presidency and capitalize on it is left to be seen, but black youth certainly can't help but benefit from it. Why do you think racists have been so overtly regressive during his tenure, they get the game; they understand they need to capture the minds of the children and remind them, "hey yall remember slavery, don't y'all start believing for a second that equality is possible"(I see you Django and 12 years a slave) , why? because they understand the power of belief/disbelief and how hard it is to stop its manifestations. just look at religions

In the Silver Lining

I'm not the talking head for Infowars..neither is ScientificPlaya .... all you need to know is that you get lied to on the daily by the MSM :yeshrug:... the AltMedia landscape attempts to fill that black hole of deception and provide a better description of truth as possible .......lowkey this is why they are trying to get rid of net neutrality :lupe: ......... its not perfect or all always in lockstep, but I'd trust objective media before media financed to deceive .... except sports and the weather, and stories about pets and babies... that's about it :leostare:

Yeah any black person who says otherwise is a certified c00n.

There's no way I'd be comfortable with some cat like Rev. Jesse, Al Sharpton, Cain or any of those other controversial brothers in office. Obama moves in a cool and calculated manner, but the job of presidency is such a highly criticized job, that I believe all racism aside, Bush clearly had it worse in his last 4 years of presidency, than :obama: ever will in office, in regards to media pressure and criticism...

Well, If Barack Obama starts a useless war while already being engaged in a separate war, while ordering prisoners to be tortured and presiding over an economy in ruins, I think he would catch way more sh1t. We kinda forget, Bush did way more sh1t to get criticized. A lot of Obama's criticisms seem forced

True story and I acknowledge that but Bush went from this:

to this:

He literally could have road off that white privilege and post 9/11 speech, and into the history books as one of America's most prominent presidents, by virtually doing nothing..... Yet he managed to go from the highest approval rating for a president to the lowest....

And like I said all racism aside Obama is an above Average president, who's hard to hate on....

True. But all of the Bush hate is over Iraq for the most part. Also, when Bush was in office he had a sane opposition that would actually try to help him. Barack Obama has the most insane opposition I can remember any pres having. Granted, I only remember the 2nd Clinton administration. But they actually worked with him to pass sh1t. They impeached him, but they kinda had a good reason. :ld:

I have always had my priorities clear when it came to BO, I feel he wasted his mandate but that was not unforeseeable and I did not expect that level of earth moving from him, given all that was at play for his presidency. But it simply can't be denied, his presidency is the most powerful thing to happen to black public relation and psychology, since the inception of the country. Being seen present is half of the battle, being seen at the table is half the battle, being visible in the field of world affairs is half the battle, these are notions that have been surreptitiously erased from American consciousness when it comes to black people. On a certain level, I will always have more faith that an intelligent man, and I believe Barrack Obama is very intelligent, who looks into the face of his black skinned children daily, will have a more visceral sense and concern for the plight of black people, point blank, this is not a notion that logic can divide me of.
