Yea I test drove a limited AWD, in the Gravity Gold Matte Color. That joint has some punch to it! Fun as fukk to drive! What Color did you get?

Electrum quoted me 1,600 if I recall correctly
:russ:

It would still be cheaper with the free charger but definitely a bit slimy.

And yea, the Hyundai warranties are very long.. but idk, I just got rid of my Sonata. It was over consuming oil like crazy and the engine has a class action law suit against that model year. Despite me being within warranty and the only owner, Hyundai handled me REALLY GRIMY, and would not retest my engine for a possible replacement. My shyt was burning through 5 quarts of oil in 3,300 miles.

They basically bytched me and told me that their decision was final, if I want to communicate further I have to go through their legal team or file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I’ve never had a company carry me like that.

I think the ioniq 6 is so dope, I was still tempted to get one despite all of this, but in the end I couldn’t trust it. For shyts and giggles, I called all the service centers near me to ask if they could service EVs, and they seemed clueless. And all had backlogs of service appointment dates. My closest dealership said the earliest service date they had was Jan 2nd.

Yeah they quoted me $1,700 (then subtract the $600 off that) and the website told me to accept the quote. I called/emailed and said I wanted to speak to someone. So dude look at rhe picture of my electric box and said they could do it for less than that. He knocked $300+ off the $1,700.

Mine looks exactly like the one i posted in this thread. SEL trim. The dealer had mine in the showroom so it had basically no miles. I test drove the green one, it was nice but it was the tester, and had an all white interior :scusthov:

I would be disenchanted if I was you too after that experience. I would understand your choice to buy elsewhere.

The Ioniq 6 did get a 10/10 on Car & Driver so that does inspire some confidence FOR ME. But I understand your position. Ultimately, I feel like if I get a year or two in and don't like it, I can trade it in and get something else.

What city/area are you in?

Ahhh yea, I woulda had the same Black SEL! And heck yea, that light interior would be hard as fukk to keep clean.

If I had gotten it, i def woulda tried what you did with that electrum quote. Lol My electrical panel is right next to where I would be installing the damn charge point so like wtf
:stopitslime:

I’m in Baltimore. I think if you have a solid service Center near you with competent techs, you’ll be straight for sure. Hopefully more brands put out EV sedans in the next few years. SUVs are cool but I don’t have kids or anything so don’t need that much vehicle. Rather have a sporty sedan

Yeah, the sound system is worlds better now bc the update changed to where you can control the volume via Bluetooth on your phone phone. So now, volume can be in 15 and be super loud vs before it had to be on like 40.

And yeah, my one regret is the Electrum thing is kinda shady. I'm going to have to pay $700 to get my charger installed. Still cheaper than say $1200, but they initially quoted me that. I talked them down a few hundred to $700. I'm getting it for peace of mind bc thankfully I can charge free at work, but the Tesla ppl hog the chargers usually so I never know if I'll get one. Been fortunate so far tho.

I saw those few posts on Reddit, but I think hyundai has some of the better warranties out there so I'm not fretting too much on that.

Did you test drive it?
Damn, they need to update the sound on ‘24 Ionic 5. I got the limited AWD with the Bose speakers and still have to turn it up to like 60 to get good sound. Spent about an hour messing with the EQ to get the sound right. Now it thumps, but it’s clear. plus with no road noise, it’s like driving with headphones on lol

I have the installer from electrum and I called a different electrician, eventhough I would have to buy a charger, to come to the house and compare the quotes. Whoever gets me the best price wins

I think the 5 looks better in person than the pictures. But you got the Bose sound, so you're good either way. But I thought they put out the updates all at the same time. Guess not. But yours is probably coming

I’ve had my model Y a little over a year now. I love it. Being able to charge at home :blessed: Just sucks that they dropped the prices like right after I got it. But I also got it locked in about 11 months before, so others got a way worse deal.

Straight from Flatbush
Just joined the EV set several weeks ago. Black Ioniq 6.

That feeling in Dallas traffic when some jackass in a truck doesn't want to let you merge on the freeway, and you just rocket ship past him:banderas:

And then slow back down and let him catchup and look at him :martin:

But seriously tho there's no EV thread? I searched but didn't see one.

That Ionic 6 is tough on the streets lowkey :ehh:

Y'all ready for Chinese EVs to hit these US skreets? Chinese EV makers are making a strong push in Europe already. BYD is right on Tesla's tail in EV sales but with much faster sales growth. I figured by 2025 they will start trying to sell EVs here.
