Sounds like you live in a rough neighborhood and I don’t blame them for cancelling. We’ve had an uptick (my favorite word) in Uber/lyft drivers being robbed and assaulted. One man was put in his trunk. I’d have fear too.

I always ask drivers who are open to talk about what jackmoves are trending lol...

A guy was telling me how people would steal a phone, start a new account, order a pickup for a friend in a good neighborhood, have that friend carjack the driver, then pick up and rob people using the uber drivers account and car before dipping out to start it up elsewhere said DC cops see that shyt start to play out and just give up in advance

Wow that’s awful. Companies will just stop offering services to certain neighborhoods, period. Zip code discrimination is already a thing and will get worse.

Dallas used to have pretty good cab service for nights out but this was back when my parents were young adults (the 70s).

Think two reasons people prefer UBER/LYFT = they came up with easy to use apps way before local cab companies even thought to do that..........and you know how much shyt is gonna cost BEFORE you book a trip.

With taxis, the driver can "forget" where they're going and make a $15 trip turn into a $23 trip just bullshyttin. If you're in a slow area/slow day, some drivers will try to milk each trip. Uber and Lyft drivers have no incentive to do that. They're better off being on time so they can get the next passenger.

Taxi companies need good apps and a way for people to know what to expect.

Having grown up in both eras, I honestly said I prefer Ubers and lyfts. Philly cabs be some on nut shyt. This dikkhead told me on price, but changed it after he hit some traffic.

He wouldn't let me out when I gave tried to give him the original amount.
