Kobe isn't even Top 10 all-time.
He can't be in the discussion with Jordan. Ever.

As far as Jordan's career...
Lost in the 1st round 3 years in a row.
Then lost in the ECF 3 years in a row.

I only mention that to say this: if Lebron James...in this day in age lost in the 1st round 3 years in a row, then failed to get to the finals the next 3 years...he'd be DESTROYED by the fans and media.
Jordan ultimately went on to 6 Titles and an insane legacy. Great for him.

this is fallacy, all those series jordan lost he lost as an underdog. IF he was losing as a favorite you would have more of an argument.

Lebron in his PRIME LOST 3 STRAIGHT SERIES WITH HOME COURT ADVANTAGE while MJ never lost a series with home court. That's the difference

I really don't believe people consider favorites in sports.
All you remember is who wins.

Nobody remembers favorites or underdogs in SBs or MLB or anything.
You just know that Jordan won 6 chips.
Montana won 4. And so on...

The Bulls made it with 38 and 32 wins in 1985 and 1986. Cleveland missed with 35 and 42 wins in 2004 and 2005. That's more a product of expansion I think. Back then only 7 teams total missed the playoffs. Now it's 14 that misses.

but dudes here argue expansion helped the bulls magically win 6 titles and ignore everything, now it's being used differently

no one mentions lebron losing to the spurs in 07, but everyone talks about lebron losing to dallas in 2011. Why you think that is?

They should have won.
But hey, shyt happens.

That 1 series can't define his career.

1. yes they should have won

2. they were HEAVY FAVORITES.

3. They were up 2-1 and lost 3 straight games

4.Lebron failed in every 4th quarter that series

No debating that.

But here's the thing:

Every time someone brings up a Jordan comparison they talk about 6-0 in the Finals. Never been to a Game 7...and all that shyt.
But I don't believe that for a player to be considered greater than Jordan, that they need to go 7-0 in the Finals and never play more than 6 games. That's just a bullshyt standard to live up to.
In my view...

If you want to be compared to jordan 1st and foremost you ABSOLUTELY CANNOT EVER LOSE IN THE FINALS, AND YOU HAVE TO WIN EVERY SINGLE FINALS MVP.

Lebron can end up top 5 but he can NEVER BE GOAT

Why can't you lose in the Finals and be better than Jordan?

:jbhmm:

I don't understand this argument. As if Michael was making every shot and defending every player.
Hell Jordan got a chip based off a Steve Kerr game winning shot. MJ gets credit for the whole chip on the coli tho, doesn't he?

it's a point of comparison. If you never lost on the biggest stage it goes a long way.

Yeah kerr hit the shot in 97, guess who got doubled and it left kerr wide open

That's Lebron's first 6 years. What are we arguing here?
dudes on here seem to think losing in the finals is a huge L. so by that logic, isnt losing in the playoffs an L too :troll:
