Were talking about government and non profits

All of this can and should be regulated. You just have congress that has no grasp or care for this issue
We arent talking government or "non-profits"

you're looking to cancel student loan debt for students who can't repay. Better discussion is why are students accepting expensive colleges when they can't afford the loans they are signing up for?

at some point you have to look at the borrower and ask: "if you know you're going to have to repay $20-$100K and the major you've chosen will only get you a job paying X, why are you gambling with your life?"

The biggest issue with it all is the misconception of: Get a Degree and Good Grades --> Get a Good Job --> Pay it off and eat

^^^^^That is the problem

Jobs are the least effective way of getting paid but noone says shyt about that do they :skip:

No, we’re talking about govt ignoring the price gauging going on by colleges.

The situation will demand their attention when the holders of all the student impact the movement of the economy

No one knows they can’t afford the loans at 18.

People with degrees earn more over their lifetime than those who don't.

^^^^Now you're talking, this is where the scam starts and ends

do they? or is this from historical projections?

I'd keep in mind that the people who ate well from the 40s-90s lived under considerably different economic conditions (far less competition for college grads)

the more college grads there are the less value being a college grad becomes....

What does more people going to college than should mean?

College shouldn’t be a luxury.

More people should be in college
.
that actually isnt true :yeshrug: depending on how you're defining 'college'

far more kids should be going into trade school, or just not going at all, than going 30k in debt for these bullshyt degrees

more people should be considering what they can offer society in the form of a product or service as opposed to selling time to existing businesses :jbhmm:

Even under current projections.

The problem is it creates a natural requirement to go to college, but it also helps to play into many of the artificial barriers put in place.

Students should be better informed about their decisions and options prior to enrolling to college. Costs should be kept down. Elected officials shouldn't cut public education funding that is then passed onto students to make up for their other budget mismanagement.

That said, the loan system is currently highly problematic For reasons of its own making and the education market itself.

because it's cheaper, less risk, and usually gives you a skill set that's in demand anywhere

if you know that you want to be a chemical engineer, you should go to college. if you didn't do great in high school, and you're going to undergrad to 'study business', or one of those bullshyt english degrees, you might not be making the best choice, given the trends

That doesn’t mean trade school is the solution
