People in VA say they feel more east coast, modern politics is generally east coast, as far as hiphop goes rappers like clipse used to say that they were East Coast. It really depends on where you live and how you feel.

And last but not least it's where people who work in Washington live.

Hampton Roads = military area...NoVA = dc suburbs

Even within Hampton Roads, you have places like Poquoson... where they're quick to let you know that they're from the South....and just happen to live by the water.

but yeah, mistakenly getting diabetes-free tea in Virginia really proves that it's not the South...yet literally it's entire history since 1607 has been of a Southern state.
