you clearly missed the point.
WV is about "You wear your X, I'll wear mine" as it gets.
Northern VA is far too transient, stuck-up, and educated to be associated with the majority of VA. It's very stars and bars in 98% of the state. I've wanted Northern VA to pull away from the rest of the state for quite sometime. Or at least turn Fairfax County into it's own city.
EDIT: On the lines of the thread, being that DC, MD and VA and in the middle, we get influences from all areas with sound. That being said, I never thought of the area as southern when it comes to hip-hop.

Lot of people are making the mistake of confusing the east coast with the north east.
Iv been to VA A Few times
has a eastcoast feel to it
And iv been To NC, Which is next to VA, NC has a southern feel

VA was confederate but it's not the south.
People in VA say they feel more east coast, modern politics is generally east coast, as far as hiphop goes rappers like clipse used to say that they were East Coast. It really depends on where you live and how you feel.
And last but not least it's where people who work in Washington live.

The biggest difference is how people define shyt, going by the way we define the south.. Illinois and Michigan would belong to the east coast. Cats try to claim that the south goes from Just south of NY to just east of Cali

Virginia is the south, Nobody from Richmond, Roanoke,Williamsburg,Norfolk or even Winchester would consider themselves East Coast.... literally outside of the uppermost 4-5 counties of Northern Virginia, the entire state is southern...and if you've ever been the the rest of Virginia, you'd know that the minute you get out of the DC Metro area, shyt changes completely.....
most of the cats in this thread, are trying to say what they "consider/think" the south is...act like 400+ years of Virginia being a Southern State somehow means nothing

Well I was referring to the sound that come out of that region. When I think of maryland music i instantly think of baltimore club music. If you wanna get technical its on the eastcoast but the sound isn't,
