dont matter what you rap about, you still need to be able to make good music, that the people at the end of the day are fukkin wit..

and wasnt sean price working a 9 to 5 while making Monkey Barz?

at the end of the day. It's about having hot beats, and a hot flow that rides that beat. you could be rappin about the realest shyt, and the saddest shyt that happened in your life. If it aint hot, it aint hot and vice versa.

Sean P the goat from Brownsville was working construction according to many interviews

Listen NEW rapper we know that youre broke. You have no income. You are spending your advance tryin to look cool and blowing your recording budget. You are renting the cars in the videos and rocking fake clothes and jewelry. We know you have to FAKE it until you make it. Stop with the fake lifestyle. We dont want to hear about your fake lifestyle in your raps.

Biggie was broke then got rich. Pac was broke then got rich. Em was broke then got rich. Nas, mobb deep, wu tang, etc....Now every video dudes are flossing in phantom and bentley
I was just thinking about this

I need some rhyme about trying to balance your recording budget and get that album out

Red Pill still has a job, and he raps about it on his album The Kick and on Ugly Heroes, his album with Apollo Brown and Verbal Kent. Someone made a thread about him a while ago (that's how I was introduced to the-coli; I manage him, so I have Google Alerts for him). He does the blue collar rap shyt well (I'm obviously biased, but many of his fans like that about him).

http://redpillandhir-o.com for a stream of "The Kick." Ugly Heroes is available just about everywhere too, itunes/Amazon/etc.

cats like Ka give off that 9 to 5 vibe. the thing is, none of these cats are willing to put their entire career on the back of their 9 to 5, meaning pimping it via a song...making that crossover rap about working your hoe ass desk job...no real nikkas wanna do that at least...sheiit Ka is a fireman lol.

can only imagine what type of job K-Rino has.

People listen to music for many reason
And one of the main reasons is to escape reality.
People want something to dream about.
So a guy living a normal life can't do that.

The black youth needs a "Where are they now" type of show so that people see behind the scenes and how the majority of the musicians they dikkride and look up to live. Just follow a "buzzing" or former "hit-maker" around and see how they really live and what life is like 3-5 years down the line after that hit.

The community needs that, so kids can see that some sort of education is important and to show the differences between imagery and reality.

Who gonna wanna blow off a good foundation for life after they see how phoney everything is?

I mean you have some stuuuupid people out there who will still buy in, but you may be able to save some kids' futures.
