Key word average. Wu as a group mainly known for one album and one song off their second lp :manny:

I'm riding with the wu but cypress was an undeniable influence on the early road sound

Hence why a versuz makes sense. Wu reached higher highs commercially but cypress hill hella influential

To reduce cypress to big up wu tang just seem like a surface level way of looking at things to me :yeshrug:
Gtfoh :mjlol:
People know Wu as global culture icons.
Mafukkas know Cypress for, Insane in the Membrane and couldn't name 1 member of the group. :dead:

The average person can name more roles that Method Man had acting than Cypress songs. :mjlol:

'hollow bones' and 'one blood under w' get more play than any cypress hill song not named 'insane in the membrane' or 'how i could just kill a man'
Two songs breh...

Lets be serious here. Wu tang and cypress hill both groups that peaked early in their career. Not even a knock against them cause both broke new ground for Hip hop, as well as crossover to other genres

Y'all act like cypress didn't sell millions of records and win grammies :pachaha:

Only reason wu sold more is cause they have nine nikkas on top of a label full of spin off acts. But both sold way more than onyx, which is why the comparison don't make sense

If you side with wu tang, cool but you ain't gotta revise history like cypress hill ain't one of the most successful rap groups of all time. Not number 1 but def in the rankings

you are underestimating the cypress hill fall off. more hardcore hip hop fans at least know about and listen to iron flag, the w, and 8 diagrams than whatever cypress has been putting out in the same time period.

i agree that onyx is not a great comparison to cypress, but cypress is not a great comparison to wu, either. cypress stopped being normal hip hop and ended being stuck somewhere between latin hip hop, numetal and stoner music. they have more in common with techn9ne than wu tang since the early 2000s.

Wu-Tang stomps 20-0 in a rout, that's just off 36 chambers+forever.

Wtf is cypress hill gonna do against all 7 wu members on stage performing protect ya neck with ol dirty son?

What songs does cypress Hill have outside of kill a man/ insane membrane?

They can't fukk with naughty at all, those are hip hop anthems. Opp, hip hop hooray, feel me flow greater than cypress whole catalog

Cypress hill belongs in a battle against groups like red hot chili peppers or limp bizkit, not hip hop heavyweights
