There needs to be a greater emphasis on mental health evals on gun owners. It won't fix the problem but stem some issues. The problem are the people getting their guns illegally and using them though.

What I take from that is the homicide rate in the Black community is waaaaaay too fukking high. Acknowledging what it is is not racist.
We got to confront these issues.

The death rate numbers from the CDC tell the same story. Look at the PERCENTAGES for Black men in the ages of 1-44 (those numbers for Black woman are high as well). Look at all other demographics.

No other group's homicide numbers look like that.

Research has shown things like purchase waiting periods and gun locks reduce suicide. Sometimes people just need to calm down. I'd imagine less guns...would result in less suicide.

Then look at it like this. If the government doesn’t care about white men killing themselves, then what makes you think they care about us murdering each other? Not only does it lower the black population, but they can invest in for-profit prisons.

Yep, South Korea has one of the highest suicide rates in the world and guns are basically banned over there.

If someone wants to kill themselves they don't need a gun to do it. Sure guns make it easier per, but gun control won't eliminate suicides or even mitigate it. You will also have to ban razor blades, belts, rope, high bridges, tall buildings, cliffs, etc.

You have to address why someone wants to kill themselves in the first place and find a solution to that, instead of hyper focus on what exactly they use to kill themselves with, because it's nothing more than a band-aid solution.
