These folks never learn: Running purely on ethnic pride doesn't work in New York (unless you're Jewish, of course).
Blacks in New York will vote for black candidates only when they show crossover appeal (see Al Sharpton & David Dinkins).
Same with latinos (Herman Badillo & Fernando Ferrer).
Bill de Blasio just got elected by winning the black and gay votes against black & lesbian candidates.

Have you seen Rangel's victory "speech"? That ol' nikka styled on everyone who didn't endorse him
The performance artist known as Charlie Rangel may have a tattered ethics portfolio. But he does a most entertaining election night throwdown.

His free-association, I’m-the-M.C.-and-it’s-my-microphone, not-quite-victory speech on Tuesday night was a classic of the form, as was his kiss-off of his opponents.

Referring to the Rev. Michael A. Walrond Jr., Mr. Rangel said, “I want to take this opportunity to wish Reverend Waldron whatever spiritual goals he wanted to achieve.”

As for State Senator Adriano D. Espaillat, who has run against Mr. Rangel and lost twice: “I should congratulate Adriano for doing the best with what he had to work with.”

Let those not-really compliments roll around your brain. He sneaked in a whack upside the head for Hizzoner Bill de Blasio, who neglected the city’s longest-serving Democrat. “The reasons that the mayor did not endorse me,” Mr. Rangel told a radio host, “are so strange that I can have no animosity because I can’t figure it out.”

I'm not surprised Espalliat lost, his campaign team executed a lot of terrible ideas. He wasted money buying TV ads in DR for an American election :mjlol::heh::dead:.

Why are people on that "Dominicans are c00ns"?
Just because you're Dominican, doesn't mean you're black. You can be black; white, mixed, or even Asian and still be Dominican.
For example @beanz is a white dude who happens to speak Spanish and be from the DR.

Of course most white Dominican people act like cac... because they r. We expect this from them.... its the black ones who try to separate that people refer to as c00ns..... they want to be something other than what they r.

You know what, Dominicans, like other immigrant groups from around the world with African ancestry or directly from Africa, don't want to be associated with black americans. The reasons may be wrong and ignorant, but it is what it is. "black" is the term used mostly for African American. So black Dominicans don't want to be called black. It does not mean we our denying our African roots.

I'm sorry that you over sensitive militants feel some type of way about that, but suck it up and work on fixing your image to the world. Don't be out there supporting drill rap and buying Lil boosie cds and then getting mad at other members of the African diaspora for not wanting to associate themselves with AAs.

That's my last post on the subject. It is what it is. If you don't like it, change it.

Not interested in changing the mentalities of people who aren't black Americans.... but aren't u white anyway? What do you know of how black Dominicans feel?

And Alan keys and ward connerly call themselves black. Its not about what they call themselves, its how black dom act as far as wanting to not be associated with people who they view as JUST black.

I guess being black American is buying bossie cds to u? Your generalizing... I been to DR , u don't wanna do generalizations

Im a mixed dominican. I look mostly white but I have every shade in my fam from black to white.

No that's just the image. The thug rapper. 50 cent and Tupac. Ask anybody from another country to name 5 famous black americans and I bet u at least 3 are rappers.

And no, YOU don't want to play the generalization game. Believe that.
