Why AAs are so obsessed with telling Dominicans...hell even all the Blacks in the Diaspora...what they should be identifying as? and Also, why are you always mad at everyone? the Middle Eastern, Africans, Asians...always whining, complaining and bellowing about other cultures (WHHYYY??). In the real world, no one is checking on what AAs identification or what jobs you are taking or what community you are taking over, etc. (okay, White people are) So, I don't understand why you are so invested and this topic is always bring comes up in Black forums. Another forum that like this is lipstickalley

Is it because you were born into a country that you never felt comfortable in? and this is an honest question. Because in the rest of the world, nationalism, ethnic groups and religion >>>>>. When I think about the Dominican Republic is like I was meant to be from there and I wouldn't have it any other way; with ALL the country and its peoples flaws (which constantly pisses me off) and ALL the beautiful things.

And I have said this before and I'll say it again. Please worry about your own. Look at the AA household in the U.S. your women are running the show, providing and building the community while you in here complaining, being mad and

first let me explain that dominican is a nationality not a race. second let me explain that black dominicans have been the most influential in the dominican republic. the majority of our culture comes from the slaves. most of the food, the music, the shapes of our women (), even our spanish is very different from many others because of the african influence. you guys have this whole idea that we are c00ns from some dominicans saying "im not black, im dominican" but guess what? im a white dominican, and if u tried to tell me im just white, ill shut that down quick and say "no im dominican". its simply a way to differentiate because we are so fukking proud to be dominican, even if it is a 3rd world country with a shyt load of poverty. why the fukk would we want to come to the USA and stop repping DR and start repping anything else? EVERY DOMINICAN OF EVERY SKIN TONE, RELIGION OR WHATEVER, IDENTIFIES AS DOMINICAN FIRST!.

now is there a degree of racial identity issues and self hate among dominicans? yes. i have always admitted that it happens. but MOST of us are accepting and proud of ALL of our roots, ESPECIALLY african because it shaped our culture so much.

the self-hate exists among ALL groups of color BECAUSE of white supremacy. dominicans that think that way are just as much victims of white supremacy as black women who want their hair to look like white women's or black men who marry white women to lighten their kid's skin or american mulattos that REFUSE to acknowledge their black side.

so why is it imperative to single us out?

honestly, i always have moments of guilt when i have these arguments with people. every community has bad seeds and shouldnt be judged as a whole based on what a few fukking a$$holes do, so i always feel bad when i do that but sometimes it feels like the only way to get my point accross. ive said some dumb shyt too lol

im glad we could be adults about it tho and just let it go.
