If the warriors really were "Light years ahead of the rest of the league" like Lacob's dumbass said, and not just an organization that got lucky they drafted a top 10 player OAT with their #7 overall pick, they would have noticed the glaring issues in Wiseman's game, and picked LaMelo. OR they could've traded down to get Tyrese Haliburton, OR they could've just drafted Tyrese with the #2 overall pick. It would've turned a lot of heads, but since they're "Light years ahead of the rest of the league", they would have been shown to be geniuses
....but they're not geniuses. They're just an organization that got lucky they drafted Steph, and had Larry riley and Jerry West who scout great players all the time. But ofc the Warriors org got arrogant and let those guys go. Since then, we have drafted fringe NBA talent outside of Poole and Looney. Seriously, look it up. ALL of the warriors first round picks and second round picks that the warriors let go of are out the league or not playing on their teams. ALL of them
Jacob Evans - out the league
Damian Jones - traded from the lakers, now rotting on the utah jazz bench
Eric Paschall - made All Rookie 1st team, now playing in puerto rico after 3 seasons
Jordan Bell - out of the league, in china
Alen Smailagic - out the league
Nico Mannion - out the league
Justinian Jessup - cant even get into the league
James Wiseman - salary dumped as the #2 overall pick. Marvin Bagley IV
Jonathan Kuminga - rotting on the bench as the #7 overall pick on some Jarett Culver shyt
Patrick McCaw - out the league
They're not light years ahead. they just had steph to cover up their incompetence. Like
@Left.A1 said, misusing and missing on draft assets like this would normally get you fired
