Just got back from a early showing today and it's a top 5 movie released this year. I had no prior knowledge of the hype of the movie, but my girl was just telling me that the director was the same guy who did The Barbarian. The beginning of the movie I could bet any might of money that aliens snatched up the kids and while it might've been still good, nothing could prepare me for what the true plot was. I loved the pacing and the unreeling of the plot, when the Principal tried attacking Justine I was shooked. The ending when Alex snapped the ritual stick and the kids chased after that old witch had me and everybody in a up-roar "GO GET THAT bytch :pachaha:. I now need to know the background of Glady's how did she get to be a witch, how old she is, how many towns she's done this same thing too. I don't know if we will ever get a sequel because every movie that's good don't need one, but a backstory of some sort would be gladly welcomed by me.

I think Gladys was actually slowly brainwashing the entire town. The cops seem wildly incompetent, the parents Archer visit and ask to see their Ring camera seem weird and sketchy, almost like they aren't interested in finding their kid, plus Archer, Justine and James all have visions of her

What did your BF think :lupe:
So apparently word of mouth is doing this movie good because on the first night, the theatre was half empty. I checked all the shows after 7 pm, and they were all almost all sold out except for single seats here and there, so we agreed he'd have to see this one on his own, so we can discuss. Hopefully, he'll check it out soon. It's really hard not to discuss the movie though lol.

Just left. 8/10. I liked it more than barbarian.

The suspense was great. I got a lil antsy towards the last perspective but man that ending was worth it.

I was surprised I actually had a decent idea what was going on around the 4th perspective.

the aunts clothing in the jumps scare with James instantly screamed “old ass family member” plus the movie kept dropping hints about parasites.

Justine’s board had information about parasites and Wong and his dude were watching something involving ants and parasites.

James I knew was coming to tell something about the case, I just guessed that one because it made for good irony. Tho I thought he would be related to Alex, the way he picked out the house and climbed to the window.

Also, did anyone else notice that the time the kids left correlated with the the people left from Justine’s class (2) vs the kids missing (17) ?

I forgot to mention I go to the movies pretty regular this is the first movie in recent times where some of the theaters were almost sold out for a 7 pm show. I also like how the movie didn’t explain too much and hopefully they will jn the sequel

Man... Felt like this could of been way scarier, ecause the film really had me hooked.

I get they wanted to build to that climax, but it was more thriller than horror for large parts of the film.

I saw this coming with the script bidding ,expensive cast, and huge marketing push that this would be a very tame horror film.

Still fantastic. Didn't like the narrator bits and film explaining everything.

Seeing Together before this kind of puts it to shame.
